About us
Founded in 1990, South County Habitat for Humanity (SCHH) has been dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide. SCHH serves all towns in Washington County, Rhode Island.
Mission
Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, community and hope.
Vision
A world where everyone has a decent place to live.
All Are Welcome
Habitat for Humanity and its affiliate organizations will not proselytize. Nor will Habitat work with entities or individuals who insist on proselytizing as part of their work with Habitat. This means that Habitat will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition that people must adhere to or convert to a particular faith or listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith.
Current projects
New Construction
Building is underway at our 7-home development in Hopkinton! We have divided the project into two phases and are currently working on the first three units in partnership with the construction department at Chariho Career and Technical Center.
The first three units have approved homebuyers currently in the program completing their required sweat equity hours. Applications are currently closed for these properties as we review applications.
Rehabilitated Homes
We have several homes currently being renovated for new homebuyers in North Kingstown and Westerly. We are not currently accepting applications for units while we review received applications.
