• Projects may include new construction, rehabilitation, critical home repair and weatherization projects.

• Lead small groups of volunteers and facilitate safe and positive experiences for everyone working on site.

• Maintain site safety by adhering to Habitat construction safety policies, modeling best practices and guidelines, volunteer education and site monitoring.

This position will focus on home construction aspects of Habitat affiliate operations.

• Activities and attractions: Washington County, Rhode Island is known for its extensive coastline, charming towns, and rich history. There are an abundance of beautiful beaches like Narragansett and Scarborough, perfect for swimming and sunbathing. There are also many opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts from biking on the South County Bike Path to kayaking in the salt ponds or fishing at any of the numerous freshwater ponds. Additionally Washington County is known for amazing seafood restaurants and historic taverns as well as many seasonal festivals. There is always something to do here in Rhode Island.

• Unique projects: The construction of 22 single-family units of affordable housing will be extremely unique, especially given 20 of the 22 units will be built with modular construction technologies, a first for our affiliate. The Construction Crew Leader will be learning this new construction method right alongside us.
