Gingerbread Houses help house our Neighbors!

Nearly $2,900 was raised in this year's Gingerbread House Contest, surpassing the amounts raised in first two years of the competition.

The winning house in the youth category was created by the Christ the King Candy Crew. Second place in the Youth Category was built by Brownie Troop 263. First place in the adult category was awarded to South County Habitat Women's Crew for the second year in a row. Second place in the Adult Category was the Thundermist Health Center. An honorable mention award for exceptional philanthropy was awarded to the University of Rhode Island's Greek Community for raising $1,500!

Thank you to Brickley's Ice Cream, Guys & Gals, and Arnold Lumber for donating window space for Gingerbread House displays, and to numerous Wakefield merchants who aided in advertising the contest and collecting votes and donations. And thank you to Penny Cahill and the rest of the volunteers on the Gingerbread House Committee for making this project a delicious success!
